Privacy policy

At Garabatos Cafetería we respect your privacy. This policy explains what information is handled when you visit this site or place an order, why, and what your rights are, in line with Costa Rica's Law No. 8968 on the Protection of Individuals regarding the Processing of their Personal Data and its regulations.

1. Who is responsible

Garabatos Cafetería, with locations in Esparza (Puntarenas) and Naranjo (Alajuela), Costa Rica. Contact: garabatoscafeteriacr@gmail.com.

2. What information we handle

• WhatsApp orders. When you send an order, the site builds a message with your items, notes, name, delivery option, address (only for delivery) and payment method. You send that message from your own WhatsApp account; this site does not store it on any server.
• Storage on your device. So you don't lose your order while browsing, we keep your cart, the last location you visited and your name in your browser's local storage (localStorage). It never leaves your device and you can delete it at any time from your browser settings or by clearing your order.
• Technical data. The hosting provider may log basic technical data (IP address, browser type, date and time of access) for security and operation.

3. Cookies and analytics

This site does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics or tracking tools. If we add any in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.

4. How we use the information

• To prepare, charge and deliver your order.
• To contact you on WhatsApp about that order (confirmation, amounts, SINPE Móvil, delivery times).
• To answer questions and dessert quotes for events.

We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes.

5. Third-party services

Orders are sent through WhatsApp (Meta Platforms) and location links open Google Maps. When you use them, those companies' privacy policies also apply. Links to Instagram and TikTok lead to external sites with their own policies.

6. Retention

Order conversations are kept on WhatsApp only as long as needed to fulfil the order and handle any complaint. You can ask us to delete a chat or an order's information.

7. Your rights

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, deletion and withdrawal of consent at any time by writing to garabatoscafeteriacr@gmail.com or to the WhatsApp of either location. We will reply within the legal time frames. You may also contact Costa Rica's Data Protection Agency (PRODHAB).

8. Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), does not collect data through its own forms and applies browser security policies that block external code.

9. Minors

The site is not directed at minors and does not knowingly collect information about them.

10. Ownership of visual material

The photographs, videos, illustrations and designs on this site belong to Garabatos Cafetería or are used with the express permission of their authors. They may not be reproduced without permission.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
